# The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport has proposed the establishment of a driving school technical committee alongside a proposed Gauteng Driving School Council. This is to address operational challenges, improve industry compliance, and enhance access to driving licence testing services. There are more than 454 driving schools across the province. Gauteng Roads and Transport MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela says the department will also pilot an improved booking and payment system at the Edenvale and Marlboro Driving Licence Testing Centres.
