# The DA has condemned the Gauteng Education Department’s significantly reduced funding for Schools of Specialisation, slashing the budget from 69.3-million-rand in 2022 to 13-million-rand in 2024, a decrease of over 81-percent. The DA’s Michael Waters warns that this jeopardises efforts to equip learners with critical skills in engineering, biotechnology, and hospitality.
