FOSA condemns Ekurhuleni’s enforcement of a 14-day notice for ritual animal slaughter [SOUND]

# The Forum for South Africa has condemned the City of Ekurhuleni’s requirement for residents to submit a written notice at least 14 days before slaughtering animals for religious or cultural purposes. The metro says traditional and religious slaughtering is an important part of many celebrations; however, this must be done in accordance with the Public Health By-laws. FOSA leader Tebogo Mashilompane says this is an assault on African culture and religious rights:
