# Forum for South Africa is calling for stronger oversight and faster action against police officers accused of misconduct. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate recorded five-thousand-259 misconduct cases in 2025/2026, including 332 linked to gender-based violence and femicide. Forum4SA leader Tebogo Mashilompane says 116 rape allegations involved police officers, 72 of them while on duty. He says officers must be held to the highest standards of the law:
