# Western Cape police have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of former Stellenbosch Municipality deputy mayor, Nyandiso Jindela. The 59-year-old was gunned down in Kayamandi on Monday evening. Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, says Jindela was found with a gunshot wound to his throat and was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel:
