# The Freedom Front Plus in Tshwane says residents are increasingly facing unfair fines and alleged intimidation. The party’s Grandi Theunissen says numerous homeowners are hit with fines of up to 75-thousand-rand for allegedly tampering with prepaid electricity meters. He says in many cases, residents claim that these fines are unfounded and legally questionable. Theunissen says the Metro expects residents to keep meters installed in a public street secure, while they are simultaneously prohibited from moving or privately securing them:
