FF Plus says Ekurhuleni residents cannot afford to pay unexpected and backdated utility bills [SOUND]

# The Freedom Front Plus in Gauteng says this month, residents of Ekurhuleni received their utility bills, following months of the metro failing to indicate their actual power consumption on their statements of account. According to a financial report recently tabled to the Council, only 21.9-billion-rand of the budgeted 26.1-billion-rand in electricity revenue has been collected, resulting in a shortfall of 4.13-billion-rand. The FF Plus’ Denise Janse van Rensburg says it is unfair to expect residents to pay massive, unexpected and backdated bills:
