# The Freedom Front Plus says the City of Johannesburg’s 2023/2024 financial report paints a sombre picture, as it shows the metro does not have enough money to finance its own capital projects or settle debt. The report, which was tabled to the Council earlier this week, indicates that the metro concluded its year with a loss of 277-million-rand. FF Plus’, Cor Boer, says the metro’s cash reserves are depleted and outstanding short-term debt skyrocketed from 17-billion-rand to 23-billion-rand:
