# The Freedom Front Plus says Ekurhuleni Municipality’s latest electricity tariff application to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa inadvertently exposed a discrepancy of approximately seven-billion-rand in the calculations. In its application, the metro incorrectly calculated its Eskom bill for bulk electricity, inflating the amount from 25.5-billion-rand to 32.7-billion-rand. The FF Plus’s Jennifer Glover says this is a direct consequence of the ANC-controlled metro’s inability to responsibly manage public finances:
