# The City of Ekurhuleni has met with the South African Municipal Workers’ Union to address concerns over pre-dismissal notices issued to nearly 400 Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department officers involved in the illegal strike on 19 March. SAMWU requested more time for officers to respond, and the City agreed to extend the deadline to Friday. The City emphasised the seriousness of the misconduct, including highway blockades, and warned against any intimidation of working officers.
