# South Africa’s sole driver’s licence card printing machine is operational again after a three-month breakdown. However, a significant backlog of 747-thousand-748 cards remains. Gauteng leads with over 252-thousand pending cards, followed by KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. Transport Department spokesperson Collen Msibi announced extended working hours at the Driving Licence Card Agency to expedite processing. He says that updates on backlog reduction will be provided as progress is made, though the pace depends on daily order volumes.
