DRC says Ebola deaths rise to more than a thousand

# The number ​of confirmed Ebola ‌cases in the Democratic ​Republic of ​Congo has increased to two-thousand-536, ⁠including ​one-thousand-and-33 deaths. The country’s ​Public ​Health Institute says in ‌its ⁠latest report 50 new cases ​were ​detected in ​the eastern ​provinces ⁠of Ituri and North ⁠Kivu on Monday. This makes it the fastest-spreading outbreak to date. The World Health Organization has designated the situation a public health emergency of international concern due to documented cross-border spread into Uganda and global travel risks.
