# The DA in the Western Cape says school safety is a microcosm of broader societal challenges. The provincial Education Department has deployed 82 School Resource Officers across 41 area-based teams and hotspot schools to curb safety-related incidents. These deployments include areas such as Bishop Lavis, Bonteheuwel, Elsies River, Khayelitsha and Lavender Hill.
