# The DA in Gauteng has warned that cancer patients’ lives are at risk due to severe delays at Johannesburg’s Anatomical Pathology Laboratory. The DA’s health spokesperson in Gauteng, Jack Bloom, says the lab, crippled by staff departure and mismanagement, has only three pathologists left from 19, with 12-thousand samples unprocessed. He warned that urgent biopsy results that once took days now take months, leaving doctors unable to start treatment:
