DA slams Mpumalanga government over historic Royal Hotel delays

# The DA in Mpumalanga says prolonged delays in finding an operator for the historic Royal Hotel in Pilgrim’s Rest are hurting tourism and the local economy. The party claims the 131-year-old hotel has remained closed for years because of failed lease agreements and repeated tender setbacks. The DA’s Teboho Sekaledi says the closure is particularly concerning as Pilgrim’s Rest is a major tourist and heritage destination with a shortage of accommodation and high unemployment in the province.
