DA slams Gauteng Health over Babita Deokaran tribute delay

# The DA has criticised the Gauteng Health Department for failing to comply with a Gauteng Legislature motion to honor murdered whistleblower Babita Deokaran. The DA says the department missed a six-month deadline to report on plans to commemorate Deokaran’s legacy and has not consulted her family. Deokaran exposed corruption linked to Tembisa Hospital before her murder in 2021. DA’s Jack Bloom accuses the department of disrespecting both the Legislature and Deokaran’s sacrifice and plans to seek sanctions against health officials for ignoring the motion.
