# The DA says the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Rapid Land Release Programme has dramatically failed to meet its goals. The programme was launched in 2018 to empower the poor through land ownership and development opportunities. The DA’s Mervyn Cirota says of the two-thousand-200 stands allocated under the programme to residents in Palm Ridge Extension 14, only 13 have seen any form of building or development activity:
