# The DA in Johannesburg has criticised the council’s decision to approve a 2.5-billion-rand loan from the African Development Bank for capital expenditure projects. The loan is payable over 15-years, and quarterly repayments will be just above 81.8-million-rand. The DA’s Chris Santana says this is the second 15-year, 2.5-billion-rand loan the metro has taken in less than 12-months. He adds that the metro’s overreliance on loans is destructive:
