# The DA says Beaufort West in the Western Cape is set for stability and progress under its newly elected mayor, Gina Duimpies. Elected unopposed at today’s council meeting, the former police captain previously served as a ward councillor, deputy mayor, and acting mayor. The DA’s Tertuis Simmers says the new leadership, alongside speaker Elvico Links, will restore confidence in local governance after recent political disruptions:
