DA Gauteng calls for stronger protection of children at school [SOUND]

# The DA is urging the Gauteng Education Department to implement stringent safety measures and regular searches in schools, to ensure that learners do not bring weapons, drugs, and illicit substances to school. This comes after eight learners from the Khomani Primary School in Diepkloof, Soweto, were allegedly drugged by a fellow Grade 7 pupil and raped by an adult. The DA’s Sergio Isa Dos Santos says this horrendous incident represents a devastating failure to safeguard children:
