# The DA in the Western Cape has written to the provincial Police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile, demanding a clear timeline and operational plan promised by Police minister, Senzo Mchunu, to combat gang violence on the Cape Flats. The party’s, Nicholas Gotsell, says the timeline must include concrete answers on when the Anti-Gang Unit will finally have a fixed establishment. He says the SAPS’s priorities could not be more painful to observe than in its response to two tragic cases of stray bullets:
