# The DA has reiterated demands that the next national crime statistics include accurate, detailed figures on crimes against women and children. DA police spokesperson Lisa Schickerling has written to acting Police minister Firoz Cachalia following SAPS admissions that current gender-based violence data is inherently inaccurate because of capturing errors. Schickerling says the flaws hide the true scale of the crisis and hamper resource allocation and progress tracking. She demands a firm deadline for corrected data.
