DA condemns pain and delay as over 34,000 patients await surgery in Gauteng hospitals

# The DA has condemned delays in surgeries of 34-thousand-500 patients in Gauteng public hospitals. DA Gauteng Health spokesperson Jack Bloom says the data was provided by Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko. Bloom confirmed the worst-affected is Steve Biko Hospital with over six-thousand-700 patients. He warns that the real figure could exceed 40-thousand patients due to budget cuts, staff shortages, and incomplete data from all hospitals. He calls for the effective use of the 66-billion-rand budget to reduce the waiting lists.
