# In the past week, the City of Cape Town’s enforcement agencies made 273 arrests, down from the previous Easter period. The Public Emergency Communication Centre recorded two-thousand-and-86 incidents over the long weekend, a 23-percent drop from last year. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says he is grateful for the decline in cases of interpersonal violence and other categories that are very often linked to alcohol abuse:
