# The Congress of South African Trade Unions says the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa’s fare increases will be burdensome to commuters who are already battling to cope with the high cost of living. Single tickets on the Metrorail network will go up by two-rand-50-cents from August 1st, while return tickets will increase by between five-rand-50-cents and six-rand, depending on the distance travelled. Cosatu’s spokesperson, Zanele Sabela, says the ticket price hike is high:
