# COSATU and the ANC Veterans League are commemorating 70-years since the formation of the South African Congress of Trade Unions. Established in 1955, SACTU played a vital role in workers’ rights and the anti-apartheid struggle. COSATU president Zingiswa Losi emphasised the continued fight for economic justice including challenges of unemployment and inequality. She called for unity in rebuilding the trade union movement and addressing corruption:
