COPE slams Gauteng premier after Public Protector exposes misuse of funds

# COPE has called for the immediate removal of Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi following a Public Protector report exposing 450-million-rand in unlawful spending on six-thousand Crime Prevention Wardens, known as AmaPanyaza. The party’s Eric Mohlapamaswi says the programme, involving luxury vehicles, transport, and uniforms, lacked legal authorisation. He says COPE demands accountability, proper redeployment of affected wardens, and a forensic audit to recover misused public funds.
