# City Power says it is stepping up the fight against criminals sabotaging essential infrastructure and crippling the electricity supply to residents. Six suspects were recently arrested for cable theft and tampering with electricity infrastructure in three separate incidents in the Johannesburg CBD, Bramley View, and Alexandra. City Power’s spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, says cable theft and vandalism to the metro’s essential infrastructure cost 300-million-rand in the past financial year alone:
