# City Power says it is currently dealing with more than two-thousand outages across Johannesburg as the cold and wet weather continues to put pressure on the power network. Lenasia has the highest backlog, followed by Hursthill and Randburg. City Power’s spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, says the cold weather is pushing households and businesses to use more electricity, which can overload transformers, mini-substations and cables, potentially triggering further outages:
