City of Tshwane welcomes donation of advanced radiation detection equipment from the US

# The City of Tshwane has welcomed the five-million-rand worth of advanced radiation detection equipment from the US Department of Energy. The donation includes personal radiation detectors, a VeriFinder radiation identification device and a special advanced radiological computer system for the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation. The metro says the donation marks a vital step forward in capacitating the Emergency Services Department in the field of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergency response.
