City of Tshwane launches in-house urban search and rescue training programme

# Tshwane mayoral committee member for Community Safety, Hannes Coetzee, has welcomed the official launch of the Emergency Services Department Urban Search and Rescue Training Programme at the Erasmuskloof Fire Station Training Academy. A total of 25 firefighters have been selected to form part of the Urban Search and Rescue team and will undergo training to qualify as technicians. Coetzee says training firefighters locally not only reduces costs but also strengthens the metro’s operational readiness and ensures that Tshwane continues to provide world-class emergency services to communities.
