# The City of Tshwane council has approved an Economic Revitalisation Strategy, which aims to achieve 3.9-percent economic growth rate by 2029. In 2011, the metro’s economic growth stood at six-percent and has since declined drastically to 0.3-percent in 2023. According to analyses undertaken, the strategy has the potential to attract between 17-billion-rand and 26-billion-rand in investment by 2029 and achieve additional employment creation. Mayor Nasiphi Moya’s spokesperson, Zintle Mahlati, says the strategy is the metro’s roadmap to revitalising the economy:
