# The City of Cape Town says the nine-million-rand underground electricity cabling project in Hazendal is expected to be completed by mid-November. This is part of the metro’s ongoing investments in the electricity grid in areas across the Mother City. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says that, as a theft deterrent, teams make use of undergrounding and alternative cabling solutions for streetlight and electricity distribution networks, due to the lower resale value:
