# Between today and the 21st of November, the City of Cape Town’s Energy Directorate will be conducting testing of its geyser ripple-control systems in the Kuils River area and surrounds only. Ripple-control is a process whereby the Energy Directorate controls the customer’s geyser. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says systems were predominantly installed in the metro’s eastern suburbs from 1978, and the programme has not been active:
