# Cape Town’s Traffic Services’ Road Safety Education section has had a busy year of conducting road safety campaigns to thousands of learners. According to the Road Traffic Management Corporation, children account for approximately 10-percent of road deaths in the country every year. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says so far, the unit has conducted two-thousand-333 road safety lectures at schools and four-thousand-748 learner patrol visits:
