# The City of Cape Town says it is having success in eradicating backlogs in fixing streetlights across the metro. In May, the metro’s energy teams fixed more than ten-thousand-700 streetlights, out of a total of 29-thousand-700 energy-related requests. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says wet and windy weather often increases the number of service requests and also may slow down turnaround times, as it is typically dangerous for teams to do electrical work in these conditions:
