# The City of Cape Town says it is strengthening efforts to preserve and share the metro’s rich history through new digitisation technology and the development of an innovative online eHeritage platform. Work is underway behind the scenes at the Environmental Heritage Resources Information Centre to make thousands of invaluable historical records more accessible to residents. Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Theresa Uys, says the metro has made significant investment in technology to accelerate the preservation of Cape Town’s documentary heritage:
