Cape Town mayor calls for funding certainty for MyCiTi bus services [SOUND]

# Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has written to Transport minister Barbara Creecy and Finance minister Enoch Godongwana, requesting urgent funding certainty for MyCiTi bus services. This comes as the national Public Transport Network Grant is being phased out. MyCiTi accounts for 42-percent of all passenger trips on Bus Rapid Transit nationally. Hill-Lewis says uncertainty over national grant funding jeopardises both existing MyCiTi bus services and the major new Cape Flats route expansion:
