Cape Town e-hailing drivers frustrated over challenges in obtaining operating licenses

# E-hailing drivers in Cape Town have voiced their frustration over difficulties in obtaining operating licenses, risking vehicle impoundment for non-compliance. The Western Cape E-hailing Association has opposed the metro’s impoundment actions. General Secretary Omar Parker highlighted that despite following due process, many drivers have not received permits, while applications continue to be accepted. The Western Cape Mobility Department has approved up to three-thousand-354 new licenses out of over 14-thousand applications, reaching the allowed quota and halting further approvals.
