# The Cape Independence Party is calling for a full investigation into serious allegations of patient mistreatment at Tygerberg and Karl Bremer Hospitals in Cape Town during July 2025. The party’s Andrew van Vuuren says it has received a detailed complaint from a patient’s husband, supported by clinical records, photographs and other documentation. He says the allegations include inappropriate and undignified restraint and inadequate wound care:
