# Acting Police minister Firoz Cachalia, says organised crime syndicates are increasing in South Africa and government needs to strengthen its law enforcement agencies to combat them. He was speaking during the handover of helicopters and armoured vehicles to specialised units at the police’s academy in Pretoria today. Cachalia says he has been working to build trust and confidence in the police since taking over the ministry two months ago:
