# Build One South Africa has categorically rejected the DA’s stated plans to privatise the delivery of essential municipal services in the City of Johannesburg.
BOSA spokesperson, Graham Charters, says the DA’s 2026 election manifesto proposes a much greater role for private companies in the financing, maintenance and operation of municipal services such water, electricity and waste management. He says Johannesburg’s failing infrastructure and unreliable services require urgent action. He adds bringing in more private sector operators cannot be a substitute for fixing the fundamental failures of local government.
