# The National Prosecuting Authority in the Western Cape has confirmed that Bitou Municipality deputy mayor Nokuzola Kolwapi is expected to appear in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate’s Court on 23 June. Kolwapi was served with a summons in connection with an incident in December last year when she allegedly discharged a firearm during her son’s homecoming celebration in KwaNokuthula. Videos of the event went viral on social media. She maintains that the object seen in the footage was a toy gun and not a real firearm.
