The Tempo will be the first WNBA team located outside of the United States. Williams emphasised her passion for investing in women’s sports, stating the goal to showcase the value of female athletes. She will also influence jersey designs and merchandise collaborations. Tempo president Teresa Resch praised Williams’ impact, calling her a role model. The team starts playing in 2026, pending final league approval.
