# The Azanian People’s Organisation says South Africa lacks effective governing systems capable of true liberation. The party convened its 27th National Congress in Bloemfontein over the weekend. AZAPO President Nelvis Qekema emphasised the party’s commitment to its historic mission of building black power, warning of a global resurgence in white supremacy and what he described as compromised leadership in South Africa. Qekema says the systems of governing the country are falling apart. He says AZAPO has pledged to engage in the process while advocating for radical systemic transformation.
