# The ANC says the work of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry will play a vital role in restoring confidence in governance and strengthening democratic accountability. The commission started its hearings in Pretoria yesterday, with KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, testifying. The commission is tasked with investigating allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system.
