# AfriForum has hailed a court victory as a win for educational institutions. The Johannesburg High Court declared the Metro’s 2023/2024 property rates by-law and policy unconstitutional. The court found the Metro failed to meet public participation standards and ordered the reinstatement of previous education rates, adjusted only for inflation.
