ActionSA Joburg condemns dubious motives in revoking suspension of probe into Anti-Corruption Unit [SOUND]

# ActionSA has condemned the decision by the Johannesburg Speaker of Council, Margaret Arnolds, to revoke the rightful suspension of the Special and Independent Investigation Committee. The committee was authorised in June 2023 to investigate allegations of corruption by officials of the Group Forensic and Investigation Services. However, former speaker Nobuhle Mthembu froze the investigations in April this year over budgetary concerns. ActionSA’s Marcel Coutriers says the committee is a witch-hunt body established solely to target and discredit the fight against corruption:
