# ActionSA Gauteng Women’s Forum says the safety of children and the end of gender-based violence must become a shared, daily commitment, not just a ceremonial pledge. Out of one-thousand-154 police stations across the country, only 134 have dedicated GBV desks. The forum’s provincial chairperson, Kholofelo Morodi, says the government must urgently address the socio-economic conditions that fuel violence and vulnerability. She adds that communities must become active protectors, not passive observers:
