# ActionSA in North West has filed formal financial misconduct charges against Rustenburg Municipal Manager, Ashmar Khuduge. The party says this after he attempted to push through a settlement that would have abandoned 203-million-rand in recoveries and instead paid up to 55.8-million-rand to companies whose contracts the High Court had already declared unlawful. ActionSA says the deal tabled at the Special Council in January this year misrepresented the Auditor-General’s position, withheld critical documents, and directed payments into irregular accounts. Council rejected the settlement outright.
